The Kingspan Saferidge System

The Kingspan Saferidge System for fall protection for the roof industry complies with the BSEN795 Standard and features top down fastening, eliminating the need to enter the premises or disrupt other work below roof level. Installation is fast, effective and offers the adaptability of use on new build projects, or retro fit to existing roofs. The Kingspan Saferidge System is available in a range of colours, including Kingspan XL Forté™, to complement, or contrast with, the profiled metal deck roof sheet.

From design concept through to production, the Kingspan Saferidge System has been created to offer a low and unobtrusive appearance on a wide range of roof profiles currently available.

Installation can be handled by a competent cladding contractor's own labour using tools normally associated with roof decking work including for example a drill drive gun. The Kingspan Saferidge System is fastened from the top down and therefore eliminates the need to enter the premises or to erect internal scaffolding.

There is no penetration of the installation within the roof construction as the fasteners connect to the top skin only.

The Kingspan Saferidge System is uniquely cost-effective as it provides a safety system and apex weather proofing in a single component. Approximately 60 linear metres / 180 linear feet can be installed by two competent roof cladders in a single day.

The Kingspan Saferidge System comes complete with everything that is required for installation including special fasteners. Foam fillers used between deck and ridge piece are not included in the kit but may be ordered separately if required. Special colours are also available. These are produced via powder coat finish to galvanised sheet and offer an alternative to the PVC coated steel.

The Kingspan Saferidge System comes with a standard width of 384 mm girth and provides normal weather cover to the roof apex, larger girths available by request.

Compliance Combined With Cost Efficiency

As the Kingspan Saferidge System replaces traditional ridge pieces, its use offers a cost-effective solution for compliance with current regulations. Additionally, the system has been tested and approved for use by up to three operatives simultaneously.

Ventilated Saferidge System

To accommodate air movement within the building envelope the Kingspan Saferidge System can permit airflow through ventilation slots. Specific airflow information can be obtained from Kingspan Saferidge with regard to the particular requirement.

Retrofit To Existing Roof Decks

Provided the existing roof deck falls within one of the approved decking systems, it is acceptable to remove the existing ridge, section by section, and progressively replace each section with the Kingspan Saferidge System. This method offers a cost-effective route to bringing an existing roof up to current safety standards.

Inspection

In accordance with best practice and the recommendations contained in BSEN795, the installation should be examined and inspected annually by Kingspan Field Service Engineers to ensure suitability for continued use.

Authority

When correctly specified and installed the Kingspan Saferidge System offers compliance with the relevant Class D requirements of Regulation BSEN795, 1996 - 'Protection Against Falls from a Height'; Anchor Devices - Requirements and Testing.

The Kingspan Saferidge System concept is protected by Patents.
